(More customer reviews)When you need to grab a piece of toast that is lodged down in the toaster this is a handy tool to use. It is safer than using your metal utensils and you don't have to unplug the toaster to use it. That said, I find it tricky to get a good grip on the toast using this thing. I have to grab at it several times to get a secure grip only to have the toast slip out as I am transferring it to my plate. Of course this means crumbs splattered all over the tabletop when that happens. The tongues are actually two separate pieces that you fit together in the little grooves. Easy enough, but it also is easy to fall apart if you grab them the wrong way. I like the colors though, a rosy red and black mix. I have not tried it on bagels but it appears to me that the tongs do not open wide enough to get a secure grip.
