(More customer reviews)These walnuts have a musty old taste. They are either old (no "use by" date on the package) or were not stored properly. I store all types of nuts in the refrigerator or freezer to keep them tasting fresh. I have found walnuts will go rancid quicker than other types of nuts if not stored properly. I live in an area of California where I am surrounded by walnut orchards, but organic walnuts here are in short supply. I stock up when they are available and they are excellent, but I recently ran out and decided to try these. I have ordered walnuts from several different venders online and these are by far the worst. I tried using them in a "raw chocolate recipe" hoping to mask the musty taste, but the musty flavor still came through.
